The Ali Kemp Educational (TAKE) Foundation is bringing its hands-on, self-defense training to Cass County, with a TAKE Defense class scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Raymore-Peculiar High School.  Women ages 12 and older are encouraged to attend. The Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation and the Community Bank of Raymore are sponsoring this event. To register for the class, go to: www.takedefense.org, and select “Classes and Events” on the left side. Then select Register. When you complete the registration information, you will be given an opportunity to select the Dec. 17 class at Ray-Pec High School.

The 2008 Legislative Session may have concluded here in Missouri, but Congress is still busy addressing children's policy issues.

The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) has issued the WWSF Guide for NGO and Citizen Action.

The guide may be downloaded at: http://www.woman.ch/children/files/WWSFpreventionGuide.pdf  The guide summarizes the main findings of a research project that began in 2007 to accelerate prevention measures of abuse and violence against children. The guide aims to mobilize organizations, institutions, child rights networks, grassroots groups, the interfaith community, social entrepreneurs and all citizens to become committed agents for change to help make prevention a priority.  The members of the WWSF have designated November 19th as the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse.
